FI Diagnose for KX450F (2009 and up) and KX250F (2011 and up)

Diagnose for models with existing orange FI warning indicator light: 2012- KX450F
and 2014- KX250F
1. replace the
capacitor
with a 12V Battery. Wire colours: O/Y + BK/W -
2. is the orange light on? if it's on it means the FI has an error. you are still in user mode, for detailed
information, switch to dealer mode:
3. connect the
yellow wire
to ground
4. read the blink code (scroll down for the error codes)
Diagnose for models without existing orange FI warning indicator light: 2009-2011 KX450F and 2011-2013 KX250F
buy a 12V 2W bulb (auto parts store) or use the OEM FI indicator light assy (#23016-0034)
there is a FI indicator light harness connector behind the right radiator.
1. connect the bulb to the red/white and blue/white wire.
2. connect the + of a 12V battery to the red/white wire and the - to the frame
is the indicator light on? if it's on it means the F.I has an error. you are still in user mode, for detailed information, switch
to dealer mode:
3. connect the yellow lead (2009: gray/red) to the frame
