|
1. put the bike on a stand.
measure the distance between rear axle and fender
|
2. Abstand unter Belastung des Fahrers messen. Das Motorrad sollte mit Fahrer
100mm-105mm einfedern. Gegebenenfalls Federvorspannung korrigieren.
|
2. now sit on the bike. the bike should sag 100mm-105mm
if it does not, readjust preload
|
3. Abstand ohne Fahrer messen.
|
3. now measure the length the bike sags without you.
should be 30mm-40mm. if it's less than 30mm the spring is too soft.
more than
40mm and your spring is too hard. (some people read this
and say "hey, that's wrong, must be vice versa". then take a few minutes and think about it!
if you do not come to a conclusion, think, which spring
is softer. that one that goes from 20mm to 100mm or that one that goes from 35mm to 100mm under your weight?)
|
|
the sag specifies the range within the suspension works.
by changing the spring preload you can change the range - but you can not
make the spring stiffer or softer!
